Home to one of the most spectacular wildlife events on the planet, Minneriya is world-renowned for “The Gathering.” During the dry season, hundreds of Asian elephants migrate from across the region to the shores of the ancient Minneriya Tank. Seeing 200 to 300 elephants socialising, playing and bathing in the late afternoon sun is a sight that defies description.
