Day 01 – Arrival at the Bandaranaike International Airport / Transfer to Negombo / Overnight at Negombo

Touch down at Bandaranaike International Airport and enjoy a short transfer to the coastal town of Negombo. Shake off the jet lag with a refreshing walk along the beach or a visit to the local canals. Spend your first evening relaxing by the Indian Ocean as you prepare for your upcoming cross-country adventure.

Day 02 – Negombo / Anuradhapura / Explore Ancient City by Bicycle / Overnight at Anuradhapura

Travel north to the sacred city of Anuradhapura, the first capital of ancient Sri Lanka. Immerse yourself in history by exploring this UNESCO World Heritage site on a bicycle. Weave through towering white stupas, intricate stone carvings, and sacred Bodhi trees that have stood for millennia.

Day 03 – Anuradhapura or Polonnaruwa / Dambulla / Ancient City Exploration / Evening Dambulla Cave Temple / Overnight at Dambulla

Continue your journey through the Cultural Triangle. Choose to explore the medieval ruins of Polonnaruwa by bicycle, marveling at the Gal Vihara statues. In the evening, visit the Dambulla Cave Temple, where five majestic rock caverns house a stunning collection of gold-gilded Buddhist murals and statues.

Day 04 – Dambulla / Kandy / Morning at the Sigiriya / Temple of the Tooth / Overnight at Kandy

Begin your morning with an iconic climb up the Sigiriya Rock Fortress, admiring the frescoes and the “Lion’s Paw” entrance. Later, travel to the hill capital, Kandy. Visit the sacred Temple of the Tooth Relic, the island’s most holy site, and enjoy the spiritual atmosphere of the evening “Thewava” ceremony.

Day 05 – Kandy / Knuckles Mountain Range / Exploration & Trekking / Overnight at Kandy

Escape into the mist-covered peaks of the Knuckles Mountain Range. Spend the day trekking through hidden waterfalls, remote villages, and diverse forest types. This rugged landscape offers some of the most breathtaking panoramic views in the country, perfect for nature lovers and photographers alike.

Day 06 – Kandy / Nuwara Eliya / Ramboda Waterfalls / Tea Factory & Tea Plucking Experience / Overnight at Nuwara Eliya

Wind your way into the emerald highlands. En route, stop to admire the cascading Ramboda Falls. Visit a traditional tea factory to learn the secrets of Ceylon Tea and enjoy a hands-on experience plucking tea leaves alongside local experts in the rolling plantations.

Day 07 – Nuwara Eliya / Morning visit Horton Plains & World’s End / Overnight at Nuwara Eliya

Set out at dawn for Horton Plains National Park. Hike through the silent grasslands to “World’s End,” a sheer precipice with a drop of over 880 meters offering views that stretch toward the coast. On your return, stop by the beautiful Baker’s Falls before returning to the cozy atmosphere of “Little England.”

Day 08 – Nuwara Eliya / Ella / Udawalawe / Scenic Train Journey / Ravana Falls / Overnight at Udawalawe

Board the famous train at Nanu Oya for a breathtaking ride to Ella, passing through tunnels and over high mountain bridges. After reuniting with your driver, visit the Ravana Falls for a quick photo stop before descending to the dry zone plains of Udawalawe for the night.

Day 09 – Udawalawe / Morning Jeep Safari / Relaxation by the Park / Overnight at Udawalawe

Experience the wild with a morning jeep safari in Udawalawe National Park, famous for its large herds of wild elephants and water birds. After the excitement of the safari, spend a relaxed afternoon at your resort, soaking in the sights and sounds of the surrounding wilderness.

Day 10 – Sinharaja / Explore Sinharaja Rainforest / Overnight near Sinharaja

Enter the deep green canopy of the Sinharaja Rainforest , a UNESCO World Heritage site and a biodiversity hotspot. Embark on a guided trek to spot endemic birds, rare amphibians, and towering tropical trees. It is a true immersion into the island’s most pristine natural environment.

Day 11 – Travel to Galle / Explore Galle Dutch Fort & Old Town / Overnight at Galle

Head to the historic southern coast to explore the Galle Dutch Fort. Walk along the ramparts, visit the iconic lighthouse, and wander through the cobblestone streets of the Old Town. You may choose an optional visit to the Maritime Archaeology Museum to learn about the region’s seafaring history.

Day 12 – Galle City / Final Souvenir Shopping / Transfer to Airport for Departure

Enjoy a final morning taking in the colonial charm of Galle. Take a moment for last-minute souvenir shopping—perhaps some handcrafted lace or gems—before your comfortable transfer back to the airport for your flight home, concluding your epic “Island Chronicle.”
